Book Review:Mental Bondage In The Name Of God by Aidid Safar

"The majority of Muslims will be afraid to read what is written in this book because they think they are already on the right path – in the ‘religion of Islam‘ – a belief they have inherited from their forefathers who were effectively shackled by the Arab religious masters. This book encourages them to think, to reason, and to question in the way of the Reading. Reflect on the purpose of life and see the wonders of it – but Muslims are disassembled and they are being dismantled bit by bit right before their eyes. It is being done either by those who would seek to do them ill, or by those who would seek to protect them from those who seek to do them ill.
Obviously what they are about to read is a dramatically different idea about the Islam they profess. This study is based upon a document they cannot deny of its authenticity – the Reading in its original Arabic. My wish for them is – try not to be the groups of people described by the Reading:-" - The Fundamental Reading Principles
Surely for those who disbelieve, it is the same over them – whether you warn them or did not warn them – they will never believe. God seals over their hearts – and over their hearing and over their sight – are veiled. And for them – the greatest suffering. (2:6-7)

H note: I personally love this book, not for his ideology, but his questions. It is so thought provoking and in your face that all the answers you look for his questions, in the end is for no one but you yourself to hear it. (WARNING: not for the faint-hearted-quick-to-condemn-sceptical-man-hating human being: Open mind is a VERY recommended trait for this book)

p/s: his book are banned in many parts of the country, you can read it HERE

tell me what you think when you're done reading it, so far many didn't finished 'offended' by what he/she wrote. At first i did too, but then after i seek for those answers myself. it's very mind provoking. it really test your knowledge in what we profess as our belief.

This book is misleading and contains the wrong interpretation of quran. Just one example is that the author claimes that salaat is commitment and not ritual prayer Quran: O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful.

Wrong meanings of words used by the writer
example:وَطَآئِفَةٌ a group of people
لِلطَّائِفِينَ or طَوَاف ( اسم ): دَوَرَان
is a totally different word meaning
encircling or running about
where as
طائِف ( اسم ): مُتَجَوِّل is wandering about
the two groups طَائِفَتَيْنِ
there is a clear difference between طَائِفَتَيْنِ and طَّائِفِينَ two different words
to the writer they are same....misleading

I received some messages about this topic and book. I as interested to know what she wants to say. The answer came in my mind same as an anonymous one marked it before. Me also marked and focused on before salah do wudu, was not these rituals was for fun only. Even why there is Jumamh prayer to lead and arranged Quranically. I want to figure out the real Islam. As a real Muslim follower of Muhammad and Ibrahim at a time. Some points she bear right but not all. Rather if she is not in true track, will misguide Muslims again. Already Muslims are misguided not to follow Allah and His orders that came through Muhammad, the last prophet. Soon the day will come, they can understand more and can figure our the real Devils brokers, destroyer who they are, if Allah wishes to help them. Then Gods kingdom will establish in this world.

Peace, note: Quran mentions to wipe the feet not to wash them, similar to the head.
