About

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Salam,
My name is Hajar Aman Shah. I'm from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was born and raised as a Muslim. This blog is all about my ranting and reminder which is mostly for myself, (but of course, sharing is caring) mostly on my struggles to be a good muslim, a good wife, a good mother, a good daughter, a good sister, a good citizen and also a good friend.

I'm a revert, who although born a muslim, but for 25 years was nothing but. I found myself reading the Glorious Quran after my father passed on (May Allah bless his soul and place him among His beloved), after witnessing His Mercy. My life had changed since, and it has been an amazing journey so far. Here, i would like to share my transitions, books and school of thoughts that crosses my path, or just my every day lesson to count my blessing and daily observation.

Since my father passed on in 2008, God had bless me with many shifts in my life, from rowdy to passive, from single to married, from busy-chaotic-living city girl to laid-back-slow-pace rural 'kampung' (The term kampung (sometimes spelling kampong) in the English language has been defined specifically as "a Malay hamlet or village in a Malay-speaking country"-In Malaysia, a kampungis determined as a locality with 10,000 or fewer people.)life, hopefully from ignorant to aware...life has been very unexpected, MasyaAllah, but i am very blessed. His everyday trial is His Mercy which does nothing but make me wiser, stronger and patient.

My updates are mainly as a reminder, and an update for my family; My mother and my eldest sister (and her family) who is in Cranfield, UK. My Elder brother and his wife, who is in Kuala Lumpur (with many trips to many islands of Malaysia -they are divers), My other brother and his family in Negeri Sembilan (which is about 4-5 hours drive from where i am) and my younger baby sister who i miss so much, who is in Dubai. And last but not least, also for my new friends and sisters who made my sharing (and theirs too) worthwhile in this blogsphere, from all around the world.

A little more about me;
I'm a part-time lecturer, teaching design in architecture after 'retiring' from the development and building industry after a year serving as project architect, after almost 7 years obtaining a double degree. I'm a full time house wife to my carpenter/builder local village man husband, and also a step mother to his 10 year old boy. We now reside in Janda Baik, Pahang, Malaysia. I am currently a work in a progress, hoping to make use of myself, and what ever knowledge i can gain in hoping to be 'decent' homemaker. InsyaAllah. But again, who am i is not important but what i do with it.

May God bless us all in our journey, May we all find our way to wherever that we're heading in hoping its closer to Him than it was before. Let us not be heedless in our choices, and may He guide us all.Amen

Love+Peace,
H
