"A professor talked to his student and tell them that God doesn’t exist because if God exist, God created everything, and if he created everything, he also created evil, then if He exist, then God is evil.”
And a student, a young kid stood up and asked the teacher “Professor, does cold exist?”
“Well of course it does. Do you not l feel cold? What kind of question is that?” And his student said “You are wrong professor. According to the law of physics, what we consider cold is the absence of heat. We could study heat but not cold.
Professor, does does darkness exist?” Again, the professor answered “Yes it does. You see darkness every night before you sleep. “ And again the student answered him back “Professor, you are wrong again. Darkness in reality is the absence of light. We could study light but not darkness.
Evil does not exist just like cold and darkness. God did not create evil. Evil happens when man does not have God’s love in their heart.”
After saying this, the student sat down as the professor realized that he was wrong.
Now may I then ask: Does sin exist? Sin is in fact is the absence of love. If we all have love in our hearts, will there be sin in the world? If we learn what it really means to love unconditionally, we would never see evil in the world.
So when does an act considered sinful or moral?"

It's a nice story Hajar,but I think I disagree..
First I think it's stupid to assume that god is evil because he created some evil in the world
Is my teacher stupid for putting some stupid questions in the exam? No,he is just trying to help those who don't have the enough mental abilities to pass..
So everything has a reason, god did create some evil,I think a human being isn't completely good nor that he is completely evil,he is a mix of both, the trick is how he makes the good overcome the bad in his heart, and that comes with the love of god..
I don't know what to call it in English,in Arabic there is:
النفس اللوامة و النفس الأمارة بالسّوء
it means that there's the nature of evil and the nature of good conscience in a human being, and these two words have been mentioned in the holy Quran
Also I don't think if we all learn to love we will stop doing bad things..I love god,but I do bad things!it is just our nature to commit sins sometimes we cannot help it!
Evil does exist, and not just inside us if you wanna go a little bit further,I'm sure you know the story of Satan and how he refused to obey god and bow to Adam, and when god said that he must leave heaven he vowed to do all he could to seduce humans into sins and evil,so we have two sources of evil, inside and outside..
Now when is an act considered sinful or moral, that depends on many things,I remember I once asked an atheist:if atheism is the right thing to do..if you guys were right about it,there's no god..everything existed by coincidence...where do we get laws from?because humans are full of imperfections, and an imperfect creature can never ever produce a perfect law..so there will always be injustice, and he didn't (or couldn't) reply to that..
So in my opinion it is not us who decide what is a sin and what is not,I think the answer should be coming from god, because he knows best what's in our good
Good point, although just think of it this way. We all love our parents right? and although at times we rebell by following our needs, even our parents (trying to keep the best interest for us-most of the time due to experience) always advice us otherwise...At one point, we remember all mercy our parent had showered us, and we grow appreciation and love for them. And we try our best not to hurt them if we would to appreciate them. My point is, i believe we all can be good with Love constantly in our mind and heart. If we keep reminded by the Mercy of Allah, i don't find it possible for us constantly to have Love for God. Nor it is possible for us do good, as per God's guidance in the Quran, towards ourselves and even towards other people. I believe that LOVE can bring out our best morality. Of course, i also believe in imperfection, and He knows how weak we are, which is a good for us how Merciful He is regardless after countless sin, if we turn back to Him, He forgives us. "Sin are not minus point, but a step back for treating our own self right"-i read this somewhere.
And do correct me if i'm wrong, Syaitan trangress himself by being proud of himself. Which is why he denied bowing down to Adam. He denied God's order because of it. He then vowed to go down and bring all the children of Adam, as much as he can, with him. Which include heedlessness, forgot, in a state of trance. WallahuAlam. God knows Best..
but thank you for your interesting point Rain, i appreciate your thoughts and comments.
Well there is this verse:
It says(and forgive my weak translation) that Syaitan vowed to seduce humans until the last minutes of their lives..even until they reach al serat(hope you know what that means cause I have no clue how to translate it!:/)
and that he would be constantly near them to lead them to denying god,and most of them would not be thankful to him
and then there's this one
it says:he said(syaitan) : god,I will make everything in this earth appealing to them so that they would all be seduced, except those who truly and honestly believe in you
and wallahualam...sorry for the horrible horrible translation!
yet, there's no "evil" in that...he said he will divert the attention of Human kind from God.
Weakness and diversion could not be similar to evil don't you think?
Your translation is fine by the way, thank you for this rain. :)
Wallahuaalam. God knows best.
Isn't evil that he wants all human race to go to hell! 0_O
evil enough for me! lol
i think there's a misunderstanding here. I'm not defending Syaitan and thinks its not evil he's leading humankind to hell fire. what i meant is the word 'evil' is not highlighted as we were talking about the existence of 'evil' in those Ayat
