-The Amish Forgive ; read more here
"Just as it is important to believe in the mercy and forgiveness of Allah, it is also necessary to base human relations on forgiveness. We cannot expect Allah’s forgiveness unless we also forgive those who do wrong to us. Forgiving each other, even forgiving one’s enemies is one of the most important Islamic teaching.
In the Qur’an Allah has described the Believers as “those who avoid major sins and acts of indecencies and when they are angry they forgive.” (al-Shura 42:37)
Later in the same Surah Allah says, “The reward of the evil is the evil thereof, but whosoever forgives and makes amends, his reward is upon Allah.” (al-Shura 42:40)
In another place the Qur’an says, “If you punish, then punish with the like of that wherewith you were afflicted. But if you endure patiently, indeed it is better for the patient. Endure you patiently. Your patience is not except through the help of Allah (al-Nahl 16:126-127) "

I am all for forgiveness but i think that we need to forget too, cuz sometimes it's way to impossible-no matter how hard we try-to forgive if those responsible for our misery or did something to us are actually in our faces. being away helps a lot to forgive. But despite all it's the best message :)
forget would definitely make it easier, i have to agree. Forgiving is not always easy, its usually the hardest thing we need to face in our life. And thus, by our own forgiveness brings through mercy of all things. which could also mean to always remember why we let go...
Ameen.
Thank you for sharing, I agree, this is incredibly important. There are a lot of verses in the Bible to the same effect as well:
“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; (Luke 6:37)
Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. (Collossians 3:13)
And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” (Mark 11:25)
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:14-15)
with more.
thank you for sharing that...I wonder if anyone could insert the same from words of buddha too...I'll look it up. The similarity is amazing, i love comparing quotes. Thanx becky!
